You are on track! You can miss up to 10 upcoming classes while maintaining at least 75% attendance.

Currently, you are at 81.67% (98/120). If you miss 10 consecutive classes, your attendance will be 75.38%, safely meeting your 75% threshold.

Policy Note: This calculator provides mathematical guidance for personal study planning. While CBSE Examination Bye-Laws prescribe a general 75% minimum attendance requirement for board examination eligibility, individual schools, state boards, and regional CBSE offices maintain specific guidelines regarding medical condonations, national sports participation leaves, and attendance calculation cut-off dates.

Attendance Mathematics & CBSE Bye-Laws

Classes Needed to Reach Target

When your current attendance is below target p (where p = Target% ÷ 100), each attended class increments both attended and total counts:

Consecutive Classes (x) ≥ [ (p × Total) − Attended ] ÷ (1 − p)

The result is rounded up to the nearest whole integer. For example, if you attended 60 of 100 classes (60%) and need 75% (p = 0.75):
[(0.75 × 100) − 60] ÷ (1 − 0.75) = 15 ÷ 0.25 = 60 consecutive classes.

Permissible Absences (Buffer)

When your attendance exceeds the target, future absences increase only the total classes conducted, without changing attended classes:

Permissible Misses (y) ≤ (Attended ÷ p) − Total

The result is rounded down to the nearest whole integer. If you attended 90 of 100 classes (90%) and your target is 75%:
(90 ÷ 0.75) − 100 = 120 − 100 = 20 classes.
